Acaspella
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Your dad has given you a map to a secret cave beneath an old tree. You have nothing but a magical flute to defend yourself from what might lurk in this ancient cave. Memorize various combinations of notes to cast spells that monsters may be vulnerable to, and find your dad.
note:
ice enemies are weak to the fire spell
Fire enemies are weak to the rock spell
Metal enemies are weak to the lightning spell
Water enemies are weak to the ice spell
Controller is highly recommended, and be sure to check the pause menu for the spell combinations. (Esc on the keyboard)
This game is a prototype tech demo, not a full fledged game (yet). It’s half baked, and hardly 5 minutes long. It’s mainly just to test the movement mechanics and see how a first person shooter with a mechanic requiring the player to memorize button combinations and input them on the fly in the heat of combat. Everything you’ll see is by no means final, and will be expanded on greatly. We apologize for any jank or faulty mechanics/ glitches.
We are both new to game development, and the development started on the day of the game jam. If any more experienced game devs have any tips/advice for better work flow, improvements for game feel, or just general critiques, they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to play the game. This has been tons of fun. <3
